Central Texas Municipal Leader

Overview

The Central Texas Municipal Leader will be instrumental in driving growth and client engagement

for WSP in the Central Texas. Approximately 70-80% of the Director’s activities will focus on external efforts, including developing and nurturing key client relationships, discovering new opportunities across all WSP end-markets and services, and enhancing WSP’s brand presence within the industry. Internally, the Leader will work towards achieving Central Texas’ sales targets and key performance indicators, supporting the growth orientation of the Region’s leadership team, and contributing to the strategic business plan in collaboration with National Business Lines (NBL) and Region leadership.

Key Responsibilities

External Focus

  • Develop and grow key client relationships to foster business opportunities.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to build a robust pipeline for all WSP end-markets and services.

  • Maintain and enhance WSP’s brand image within the industry through active engagement.

  • Provide leadership and personal engagement in major pursuit strategies, proposals, and interview preparations.

  • Represent WSP at high-impact client and industry events to strengthen relationships and foster new partnerships.

  • Help to initiate, create, and establish local & regional comprehensive plans.

Internal Focus

  • Achieve the Texas/Louisiana Region’s sales goals and key performance indicators.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the NBL/Region's strategic business plan.

  • Collaborate with NBL leadership to build client engagement plans and drive effective positioning,teaming, and winning capture plans.

  • Partner with the Strategic Growth Team (SGT) Marketing Manager to execute the Region's marketing and sales needs.

  • Work closely with the NBL's Strategy & Growth Manager to facilitate the NBL's growth plans.

  • Supervise the NBL/Region's civic engagement program in collaboration with the Regional Manager of state and local government affairs.

  • Participate in identifying and recruiting key personnel necessary to win and deliver top opportunities.

  • Develop and monitor business development budgets and encourage participation in civic and professional organizations.

  • Foster partnerships within the industry to inform team-building decisions for key pursuits.

  • Collaborate with the NBL Manager and National Communications leadership to develop and implement the external brand and communications strategy.

Your Impact

  • Drive the implementation of the NBL/Region's strategic plan.

  • Identify and prioritize key pursuits from a dynamic pipeline of opportunities.

  • Champion and coordinate the NBL/Region's relationships with clients, aligning them with WSP’sinterests.

  • Deliver comprehensive resources to key initiatives by building and maintaining strong relationships across WSP business lines, end markets, and regions.

  • Ensure clients are informed about WSP’s initiatives, projects, and personnel through effective communication strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development and client relationship management within the engineering, consulting, or construction industries.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
