One Gas Utility Coordinator - Engineering (Hybrid) in Austin, Texas

What You Will Do

Perform responsibilities related to pipeline system planning and analysis, construction estimates, and design of pipeline construction projects.

Analyze and evaluate various pipeline systems and make recommendations for Capital Improvement Projects related to capacity and system operation. Evaluate proposed projects by conducting studies.

Perform calculations related to project and investment cost estimates.

Coordinate projects between government entities and engineering departments including:

  • Construction and relocation projects

  • Interconnects

  • Deterioration projects

  • Sizing specifications

Provide technical and engineering assistance to management, employees, governmental/regulatory personnel, contractors, producers, manufacturers, and others on matters including:

  • Gas facility design, construction, operation and maintenance

  • Conflict analysis

  • Pipeline sizes

  • Replacement and relocation projects

Research, analyze, and prepare information including but not limited to:

  • Engineering studies

  • Pipeline system analyses and recommendations

  • Government rules, regulations, codes and standards

Provide technical assistance and review, summarize, and help prepare information including:

  • Pipeline sizes

  • Data analysis

  • Elevated pressure requests

  • Equipment/system design

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Preferred bachelor's degree engineering, other related field or relevant experience

Expended conceptual knowledge of pipelines and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects.

Knowledge of the application of math, algebraic formulas, statistical methods, and calculus.

Previous experience in the use and function of computers and applications such as pipeline hydraulic modeling software, geographic information systems, excel, and relevant software.

Previous knowledge and training related to:

  • Transmission/gathering pipeline operations

  • Company/governmental operating and safety procedures

  • Interpersonal/communication skills

Identify, research, evaluate, and prioritize problems or specific situations and coordinating appropriate action/response using experience, judgement, and precedents.

Expanded knowledge in researching and preparing specifications, engineering studies, and multiple reports, forms, and correspondence.

Read and understand governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, charts, surveys, load studies, and different reports and correspondence.

Interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated ability in developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.

Read and write fluently in English.

Minimum Applicable driver's license.

Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out of doors.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.

Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
