YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQs Office of Air, you would contribute to protecting and restoring Texas air quality. This position is a member of our Air Permits Division. Qualifications: KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience in New Source Review (case-by-case) permitting, Prevention of Significant Deterioration, and Non-attainment reviews Experience communicating, written and verbally, with executive management Experience preparing and conducting presentations and training HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING... Review highly advanced air permit applications (i.e., projects), ensuring high quality work and completing the required quantity of projects within established timeframes. Conduct a comprehensive technical review for projects to include defining all sources of contaminants, applying appropriate federal and state requirements, reviewing emission calculations, drafting permit documents, and completing technical review summaries. Prepare public notice authorizations and completes associated tasks. Provide quality customer service to applicants, agency staff, other state/federal agencies, elected officials, stakeholders, and the general public concerning the applicability of federal and state requirements for the permitting process and the technical completeness of projects. Lead and attend technical training activities concerning major and minor permit review. Participate in division, section, and team meetings. Develop and prepare technical guidance packages and policy memos, streamlining activities, and represent the division and agency at meetings, training sessions, presentations, etc. Serve as a mentor for other permit reviewers on various projects. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, physical science, environmental science, or a related field, plus six years of full-time experience in performing engineering, technical, or related work in environmental permitting or control activities. Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination may be substituted for six months of the required experience. OR A masters degree in the specified fields from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience. OR A doctoral degree in the specified fields from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of the required experience. OR One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Environmental Permit Specialist V. Transcripts/College Hours or Course Work:See instructionson how to attach documents.
