Job Overview:

We seek a highly skilled Application Packaging Engineer with expert-level knowledge and experience in application packaging and deployment. This role requires a deep understanding of Tanium, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Advanced Installer, and MSI packaging technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a black belt level of expertise in these areas and be familiar with the intricacies of both user-based and system-based installations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain application packages via SCCM, Tanium, and other deployment tools.

• Utilize Windows Advanced Installer to create and manage complex MSI packages.

• Conduct thorough testing of packages in a sandbox environment to ensure functionality and compatibility across different Windows platforms.

• Develop and implement strategies for user-based and system-based installations, understanding the fundamental differences and challenges associated with each.

• Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure all packages comply with enterprise security policies.

• Optimize packaging processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.

• Provide technical guidance and training to junior packaging engineers and support staff.

• Document application packaging processes and maintain detailed records of all packages.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application deployment and operation.

• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies in application packaging and deployment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in application packaging and deployment, with a demonstrated black belt level expertise in Tanium, SCCM, Windows Advanced Installer, and MSI technologies.

• Strong understanding of the technical differences between user-based and system-based installations.

• Proven ability to design and implement complex application packaging solutions in a large enterprise environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

• Certifications in SCCM, Tanium, or relevant fields are highly desirable.
