Google Strategic Cloud Engineer, Looker, Google Cloud in Austin, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience as a front end developer proficient in JavaScript, and the React framework.

  • 2 years of experience working with SQL relational databases.

  • Experience with *nix terminals and commands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with another dynamic language like Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Experience with one or more of Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.

  • Knowledge and awareness of industry trends within application development, data analytics, cloud computing, virtualization, containerization, hosted services, multi tenant cloud infrastructures, and data storage systems, which may include new advancements in BigQuery, or new front end development patterns.

  • Experience driving excellence through performant and maintainable code.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for transmitting application requirements and building business relationships.

The Looker Professional Services team is seeking a development expert to assist with the realization of full-stack, custom applications leveraging the Looker Data Platform. In this customer-facing role, you will act as a technical lead architecting, delivering sample code, deploying Looker, and driving high impact customer outcomes.

You will be focused on Looker embedded analytics and extension framework solutions, you'll guide customers on how to ingest, store, process, analyze and explore/visualize data with Looker on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work on transformational projects, collaborating with customers to design valuable Looker solutions and troubleshoot potential platform challenges. Additionally, you will work closely with Product and Engineering to constantly drive excellence in our products.

  • Help deliver Looker embedded analytics and extension framework projects using your frontend development skills.

  • Deploy Looker projects using DevOps and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

  • Provide technical leadership to other project developers (consultants or customers).

  • Promote knowledge of the product through educational materials and developer advocacy.

  • Identify and mitigate challenges which could jeopardize quality or on-time delivery.
