AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to- market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. Visual Computing Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in content creation, business acumen, and technical sales skills. They are focused on supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and work closely with the teams that support implementation including AWS Professional Services and Partners. SSAs unblock customers and help them get to production faster. The WWSO Visual Compute team is responsible for creating and driving the technical strategies to help customers bring content creation to next-generation cloud-based production pipelines. You will partner with our Go-To- Market (GTM) and engineering teams to provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of cloud technology in customer workflows.

As a Specialist Solutions Architect for AWS Games, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers solve their challenging problems in deploying and scaling their game and application streaming workloads at global scale. You are a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams around the world and set direction and standards for how we solve customer problems. You partner with technical and business teams across AWS and bring the voice of the customer into our product development roadmap. You will help our team see the big picture and set the plan so the world’s most customer obsessed technical teams can make history.

Key job responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services streaming solutions into customers’ architectures and distribution channels.

We're looking for people that have:

  • A High level understanding of the underlying infrastructure platform and resources to run streaming game engine workloads.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations

  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Go, Bash, C+- Working knowledge of implementing modern web architectures.

  • Background knowledge in one or more game engines: Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, O3DE

  • Working knowledge of game engines such as Unreal or Unity

  • Working knowledge of containers and container orchestrators such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Working knowledge of serverless APIs

  • Experience in a customer-facing, sales-aligned role such as consultant, solutions engineer or solutions architect.

  • Track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

  • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of game or game engine development

  • 5+ years of developer experience with streaming/cloud gaming workloads.

  • Proven ability to understand streaming game engine user requirements and map these to solutions.

  • Experience in deployment, tuning, and management of streaming game engine technologies in a multi-tenant environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

  • Experience in a technical role within a sales organization

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

  • Familiarity with large scale distributed multi-user services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
