Senior Principal Software Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

  • Architect firmware features for Embedded Controller (MIPS/ARC/ARM core) processors in single threaded/interrupt driven, as well as in real time OS environments.

  • Work with our internal partners (CTO, System Architects, Platform Planners) to architect new and innovative experiences spanning firmware, software and hardware for our client platforms.

  • Create, design and review architectural collateral, documenting the scope of our Embedded Controller firmware features. Prototype potential solutions to comprehend feasibility.

  • Gather business requirements and drive product definition and prioritization for Embedded Controller firmware features. Influence the hardware and software direction for features that span beyond Embedded Controller firmware.

  • Provide strong technical guidance when collaborating across multiple lines of business; including engineering, marketing, usability, quality, and services.

  • Communicate and coordinate activities across many different sites in several different countries.

  • Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations.

Essential Requirements

  • BSEE, BSCE, BSCS or related degree plus 10+ years of current embedded software development experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes quickly

  • Strong PC Embedded Controller development and/or architecture background.

  • C/Assembly programming, Compiler, debugger experience.

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematic diagrams

  • Familiar with latest technology (wireless charging, USB Type-C) and various HW bus interfaces (SMBUS, eSPI, I2C, etc)

  • UEFI BIOS development a plus

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) including experience with Threat Modeling. This includes process integration to manage SDL activities within the product architecture, development and production phases.

  • Familiarity with RTOS environments

  • Familiarity with Git

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, as well as with using the Atlassian suite of tools (BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira, and Confluence)
