Senior Legal Counsel

What you’ll achieve

The Senior Legal Counsel you will join a team within Dell that provides legal support for the Client Solutions Group business, helping us remain the best in the industry. You will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of issues related to the engineering, development, production and in-field support of PCs and other client products in both a consumer and commercial environment. This will include support for product safety, security, and regulatory compliance matters; basic intellectual property guidance to hardware and software engineering and development teams; support for product sustainability efforts; engagement on product-related litigation and business disputes; and general commercial support for technology, software and development agreements.

You will:

  • Provide direct support to executives and other business clients on all matters related to the engineering, development, production and support for PCs and other client products in both a consumer and commercial environment

  • Interact directly with regulators at the federal and state level as needed on a variety of matters

  • Respond to internal and external legal inquiries, dealing directly with internal clients, including senior executives, customers, and government agencies

  • Provides support to business teams on the development of new solutions while balancing Dell’s risk tolerance and business needs

  • Review, negotiates and drafts legal documents, memoranda, regulatory filings and commercial agreements

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Safety, Security, Trade Compliance, Finance, Tax, Insurance, Privacy, IT Security and other Legal groups to address escalations from teams and manage issues as needed

Essential Requirements

  • JD with 8+ years relevant experience

  • Commercial attorney with relevant experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal department

  • Expertise advising on product engineering, development and regulatory compliance matters

  • Expertise handling negotiations and drafting contracts

  • Significant knowledge of the PC or information technology industry

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good judgment, practical approach, energy, high integrity, and demonstrated understanding of general business values and ethics

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience supporting engineering and development organizations

  • Experience supporting product regulatory compliance matters
