Primary Responsibilities:
Directs, supervises, and manages all functions and activities for the Senior Center to include:
Systems, policies, and procedures
Human resources, and support services
Plans, organizes, and administers a community recreation program for older adults to include:
Physical activities
Health activities
Human services
Special interest classes and programs
Responding to member and staff incidents; coordinating medical emergencies with the local EMS and the adjacent WellMed clinic
Leads the implementation of programs or projects to include:
Planning, developing, implementing and evaluation programs and projects
Coordinating project activities, collaborating with project team members
Monitoring progress toward achievement and other projects assigned
Creating corrective action plans for metrics off track
Coordinates staff work activities and monthly schedules in a timely manner
Ensures that the Center monthly member calendar is in place ahead of time for members to review and sign up for activities
Selects, trains, motivates, and schedules Senior Center staff and volunteers
Ensures that space, supplies, assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for senior members and volunteers
Promotes the provision of cost-effective high quality member services to visitors, members, and volunteers
Represents the Senior Center at public and professional meetings and conferences
Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep pace with trends in senior related activities
Evaluates performance and recommends:
Merit increases and promotions
Disciplinary actions
Assists in interviews, training and orientation of new staff members and volunteers
Maintains senior member data base(s) (My Senior Center) effectively
Produces monthly reports to show membership statistics
Performs other related duties which may be inclusive, but not listed in position job description
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High Scholl Diploma/GED
2+ years of experience in fitness center operations
2+ years of experience in senior center operations
2+ years of experience in community center operations
2+ years of experience in healthcare operations experience
2+ years of supervisory/management experience to include action plans and employee performance improvement plans
2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
2+ years experience of implementation of programs or projects and planning
2+ years of developing and implementing and the evaluation of programs and projects
2+ years of coordinating project activities, collaborating with project team members
2+ years of monitoring progress toward achievement and other projects assigned
1+ years of data analyzing and focused metrics
Ability to work Monday- Friday 8am-5pm CST on-site in 4715 S Lamar Blvd, Sunset Valley, TX 78745 in South Austin, TX
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated passion in working and supporting Seniors
Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills
Proven knowledge of organization policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to apply principles to solve everyday problems in a variety of situations
Proven knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques
Proven knowledge of office management techniques and practices
Proven ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, decision-making
Proven ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal)
Bilingual in English and Spanish
