ManpowerGroup SCADA Engineer in Austin, Texas
Our client in the renewable energy industry is seeking a SCADA Engineer to join their team. As a SCADA Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Controls Team supporting SCADA portion of projects intended to be outsourced to external teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing skills with a background in SCADA systems, industrial automation, and collaborating with remote teams.

What's the Job?
Collaborate with SCADA engineers, project stakeholders, and technical experts to gather and understand SCADA system requirements, including hardware, software, and network components.
Draft detailed specifications, outlining system requirements, interfaces, network architectures, data collection points, and protocols (such as Modbus, OPC, DNP3) for outsourced SCADA work.
Develop technical exhibits, such as control system diagrams, network architecture layouts, PLC configuration details, HMI screen workflows, and communication protocols.
Oversee negotiations with key external partners to review and align on wording within specifications and development of exhibits.
Define precise performance metrics, regulatory requirements, and acceptance criteria for outsourced SCADA work to ensure system reliability, security, and adherence to industry standards.
What's Needed?
5+ years of experience in writing specification documentation, or project management related to SCADA systems or industrial automation.
Strong understanding of SCADA architectures and concepts, including PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC).
Proficiency in diagramming tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio) to create network and control system diagrams.
Experience with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance requirements in NERC environments.
Structured and thorough in analyzing and documenting requirements and creating technical documentation for different stakeholders.
