Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

• Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

• Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

• Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

• Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Certified Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Licenses or certification issued by Texas Board of Nursing.

• Bachelor Degree in the field of nursing.

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred.

• 2 years of experience in RDN or RN role

• CDCES certified preferred but completed within 2 years of hire

• Experience with pattern mgmt [BG logs, CGM reports and insulin adjustments by CDCES] preferred [Not every CDCES has this experience if they do they would list it on their resume].

• Experience with insulin pumps and CGM preferred [same, not all CDCES has this experience and that would also be listed on their resume under skills].
