SHI Project Manager II in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

SHI has an exciting opportunity available in our Managed Workplace Services (MWS) organization as a Project Manager II. The Project Manager II will be a subject matter expert in managing diverse customer projects of medium complexity and financial scope.

This position will report to a Senior Manager of PMO within the SHI Managed Workplace Services organization.

This position is required to report to the Somerset, New Jersey office location.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead multiple customer projects and programs of medium complexity and financial size, ensuring adherence to defined scope, quality, standards, and deadlines.

  • Coordinate various resources, including internal SHI and partners.

  • Create, maintain, and execute project plans.

  • Track completed and pending action items for multiple contacts.

  • Identify potential project risks and implement proactive strategies to mitigate them.

  • Develop and execute contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges, ensuring minimal disruption of project timelines and objectives.

  • Report project status to both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Schedule and conduct kickoff and closing meetings effectively.

  • Aid the sales team in crafting Statements of Work (SOW).

  • Effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various operational and executive levels.

  • Actively contribute to improving processes within the Project Management Office (PMO).

  • Monitor project milestones to ensure timely progress and completion.

  • Process billing while ensuring accuracy.

  • Mentor PM1 and demonstrate expertise in PMO knowledge areas.

  • Adhere to the SHI project management framework and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience or related experience as a project manager

  • 2-5 years project management experience

  • Understand Project Manager as defined by the PMBOK Working knowledge of IT concepts: security, servers, storage, cloud computing, and disaster recovery

  • Previous Project Management experience

  • PMP Certification is required or relevant work experience

  • Proficient in clear verbal and written communication to liaise with stakeholders and articulate project goals, requirements, and expectations. Skilled in reading contracts and Statements of Work, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational commitments.

  • Adept at leading, motivating, and delegating tasks to foster a collaborative team environment for achieving project objectives. Strong interpersonal skills to ensure timely task completion by internal colleagues and partners.

  • Proficient in organizing tasks, setting priorities, and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to handle changes in project scope or requirements.

  • Capable of identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies, promptly adapting plans to address unforeseen challenges. Able to analyze problems and make informed decisions to keep projects on track.

  • Ability to manage project financials and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints while delivering quality outcomes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for project-related documentation and communication with stakeholders.

  • Skilled in managing customer relationships, effectively managing expectations, and defining actions, tasks, and processes to ensure satisfaction and successful project outcomes.

  • Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in IT delivery and operations

Certifications Required

  • PMP or Agile Certification or relevant work experience and pursuing certification.

Unique Requirements

  • Travel to onsite locations as needed

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
