TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Program Specialist (Remote) in Austin, Texas

This position reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure Services but provides support to the entire department and assists the Director to coordinate and oversee department processes and initiatives, including policy and procedure development, planning, data reporting, and project management.

Infrastructure Services oversees the agencys facility operations and maintenance, construction and facility management, field support services and warehouse operations.

You Will Be Trust To: -Perform a variety of highly advanced (senior-level) work for the Director of Infrastructure Services. -Work directly with subject matter experts to develop and manage the departments policies and procedures -Track assignments and verifies that department staff are implementing required changes, including legislative or audit related changes. -Prepare, coordinate, or review data, operational, and special reports for the Director. -Plan, assist or execute special and administrative projects or assignments. -Develop and maintain Microsoft SharePoint sites to support cross-department coordination and reporting. -Plan, assign, or supervise the work of others, as required by the Director. -Hold others accountable while maintaining positive working relationships. -Review and evaluate department policies and procedures. -Work independently under minimal supervision and with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. -Prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. -Perform related work as assigned.

You Are a Great Fit With: -Recent (within 3 years) experience with policy and procedure development, preferably in a state government environment. -Experience with analyzing data and preparing executive level reports, preferably in a state government environment. -Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. -Ability to perform project management principles and improve processes. -Proven experience meeting competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various audiences both in verbally and in writing. -Experience with Legislative reporting and bill analysis. -Proven experience working on teams in a professional environment. -Ability to think critically, prioritize work, escalate problems appropriately. -Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently. -Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs, beyond Word, Excel, and Teams, e.g., Microsoft SharePoint -One or more years of state experience.

You Qualify With: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plustwo years and six months of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency. -One year of full-time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education. -Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
