POSITION SUMMARY

The ReStore Warehouse Associate is responsible for partnering with production and the retail team in a high energy fast-paced environment to perform a variety of operational functions that include: receiving, sorting, processing, pricing, and meeting daily goals. The position demands excellent donor service at all times. Greets donor, receives donations, and supplies donors with receipt. Expedites merchandise to make sure it is on the sales floor within company standards.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides exceptional customer service to all our donors/customers.

  • Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.

  • Work a flexible schedule in support of the store opening, production, and closing operations including working on weekends and holidays.

  • Complete donor receipts.

  • Sort donated items and determine a value.

  • Comply with all safety and security procedures.

  • Maintain a professional appearance (uniform).

  • Comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate ethical behavior.

  • Adhere to work schedule

  • Assist in loading/unloading trucks.

  • Perform housekeeping duties.

  • Communicate the Habitat mission and vision effectively to our customers.

  • Sort and process merchandise according to procedures

  • Accurately record donations.

  • Identify recyclable items and sort accordingly

  • Identify high value items for online or in-house auctions.

  • Price all sellable items and move to sales floor in timely manner

  • Keep work area clean and safe at all times.

  • Cross train as necessary in other functions of the store operations, and assist as needed in other areas of the ReStore.

  • Oversee donation tracking

  • Fulfill Housekeeping List

  • Monitor recycle bins

  • Other record keeping and duties as required/directed

    REQUIREMENTS

    This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of AHFH.  Qualified candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.  Must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and the ability to multi-task.  This individual must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.  Must be able to deal with all kinds of individuals and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor.   Must be available to work a flexible schedule.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Required to lift up to 80 pounds on a regular basis and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion.  This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.).

    EXPERIENCE

    Has great customer service skills and be able to multi-task.

    EDUCATION

    No education required, but recommended.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

    Fork Lift Certification (preferred but not necessary)
