Aerotek Orbital Welder in Austin, Texas

Job Title: Orbital Welder

Job Description

We have multiple openings for orbital welders to join our team. We are looking for individuals to fill 3 openings on the 1st shift and 2 openings on the 2nd shift. You will be working in a light technical cleanroom environment, fully equipped with cleanroom PPE from head to toe, to operate an orbital welding device with high precision. The primary materials you will work with include aluminum and stainless steel, ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 inch thickness. Training will be provided by our experienced Welding Manager. Your responsibilities will include programming the welding machine, setting parts, and performing circular welds on tubing sub-assemblies. Additional tasks include picking parts and minor assembly.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Austin, Texas.

Work Environment

The work environment is a fully climate-controlled cleanroom, often referred to as the 'fish bowl' due to its glass square room design. You will be required to wear a smock, shoe covers, hair net, and mask. Shifts are available from 6am to 3pm for 1st shift and from 2:30pm to 11pm for 2nd shift, with potential for up to 10 hours of work. Overtime is mandatory, and employees must be open to working 10+ hours of overtime per week. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The job involves physical demands such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs independently or more with assistance. There may be exposure to noise, electrical currents, moving mechanical parts, and chemicals. Visual acuity and the ability to use a computer and phone for extended periods are required.
