Responsibilities

Perform daily scanning of long term neurodiagnostic tests and provide final advanced technical report.

  • Scan, document, and provide annotation of ictal, interictal, and paroxysmal events. Write final technical report and detailed description of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, radiologic findings, mapping of ictal and interictal abnormalities, and selection of representative EEG samples.

  • Review, evaluate, map, and classify impressions of ictal, interictal, and paroxysmal events and data collected from EEG/video recordings.

  • May support the physician by providing study findings, results, impressions, and descriptive analysis in collaboration with the supervising physician and other healthcare staff.

  • Map interictal and ictal patterns and create permanent file clips which represent these findings.

  • Detail patient history from patient interviews and write daily technician monitoring descriptions in the patient hospital charts.

  • Tutor, demonstrate, and mentor other team members in competencies related to the setup and monitoring of LTM/ICU/EEG.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certified Electrocardiography Tech specializing in Long Term Monitoring credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Neuroanalyst Certification Examination In Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

  • ABRET credentials REEGT/CLTM required
