MATERIAL HANDLER

TYPE: FULL TIME CLASSIFICATION: HOURLY

Location: Austin, Texas

Job Summary: This is a full-time on-site position. The Material Handler will be responsible for material handling throughout the warehouse and production facility, production order pick/stage/deliver, inventory control, cycle counting, part labeling/storage, service part pick/pack/ship, and processing associated transactions in the ERP system. Other responsibilities and tasks may include receiving, inspecting and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, packing and shipping of equipment orders, loading/unloading trucks, and other warehouse tasks as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Picking, labeling, staging, and delivery of parts and materials for manufacturing orders to the designated production or shipping location/area, reporting of material shortages in a timely manner, and processing of associated material transactions in Odoo ERP.
• Picking, labeling, staging, packaging, and shipment of parts and materials for service and aftermarket transfers and customer orders, subcontract transfers, reporting of material shortages in a timely manner, and processing of associated material transactions in Odoo ERP.
• Manage, organize, label, and control stock, project, and aftermarket/service inventory part locations and staging areas along with associated part/location record and transaction updates in Odoo ERP.
• Manages inventory by identifying, establishing, and labeling physical inventory locations and electronically in Odoo ERP System and conducting weekly cycle counts.
• Receives and delivers material shortages to the proper staged or in-process location and updates shortage log as applicable.
• Assist in the physical receiving of parts and materials, verification of material certifications where required, processing associated receiving transactions in Odoo ERP, and delivery to the correct inventory or staged location.
• Process, record, and transfer of returned materials from production and service to the correct inventory location and complete required transactions in Odoo ERP. Coordinate the disposition of project materials with assigned Project Manager where applicable.
• Handles return materials to suppliers per RMA/Return instructions and processes return transaction(s) in Odoo.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
• Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
• Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
• Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years of material handling experience
• Valid drivers license and safe driving record
• Previous stock or inventory experience a plus

• The ability to communicate orally with management and coworkers is crucial. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to move and adjust positions frequently. This includes lowering and raising self from floor, kneel for short periods of time, or climb to heights of less than 4 from grade position, on various surfaces.
• Occasional heavy lifting (40+ lbs.) can be expected. Lifting greater weights occasional, with the use of proper lifting equipment.
