Supervises a crew of gardeners and groundskeepers in the performance of landscaping tasks.Maintains landscape to university standards by safely operating landscape equipment including power mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and other equipment and tools used in the performance of landscape tasks.Ensures the timely completion of written and oral instructions, assigns work to the crew, completes routine paperwork including performance evaluations, enters reports electronically, and ensures the accuracy of employee attendance records.Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the task, assures crew members follow safety rules and wear appropriate PPE, reports unsafe conditions, and maintains safe conditions for the crew and the university community.Applies mulch, soil amendments, fertilizers and pesticides, and irrigation to the landscape as instructed.Cleans, maintains, operates university vehicles and equipment, and maintains acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.Safely operates landscaping equipment and vehicles.Ability to pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs. Other related functions to be assigned, including working with other departments within the Campus Operations portfolio and throughout The University of Texas System, and occasional overtime required, to support organizational goals and objectives.
