Project Coordinator (KIC Coordinator)

General Job Responsibilities This description of responsibilities is meant to be general and is not necessarily all inclusive of this position’sresponsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Kids in Cars is funded by TxDOT and led by the Dell Children’s Medical Center’s Injury Prevention Program. Theprogram focuses on delivering child passenger safety information and services to five Counties in the Austinregion. These services are provided to caregivers in collaboration with community partners in an effort toprevent childhood injuries related to motor vehicle crashes..

● Provides support and technical assistance to child safety seat check-up clinics/events in the target area● Coordinating logistics for child safety seat check-up events● Assisting child passenger safety technicians● Providing direct CPST services● Establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners● Manages the distribution of literature and information● Processes orders and re-supplying child safety seats and supplies to clinics● Receiving shipments and loading and unloading the program van with equipment and supplies● Promoting the program through various media outlets● Planning and conducting trainings for Child Passenger Safety Technicians● Tracking program metrics and grant budget● Conducting program evaluation● Contributes to annual grant writing efforts for program sustainability● Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician within six months of the first year.● Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor is expected within 2 years.

What You Will Do

Coordinate and/or lead assigned project(s).

  • Monitor project plans, schedules and budgets. Recommend alternative actions based on tracking outcomes.

  • Organize and support project meeting agendas.

  • Document and track project action items.

  • Coordinate and prepare meeting reports, materials and presentations.

  • Coordinate and/or lead project tasks as assigned.

What You Will Need


  • High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Preferences

Stronlgly prefer all attributes listed below:

● Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician within six months of the first year.● Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor is expected within 2 years.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:● (Bachelor degree preferred or Equivalent experience)● Strong networking and collaboration skills● Presentation and facilitation skills● Event planning, organization, and logistics skills● Strong written and verbal communication skills● Social Media knowledge and skills● Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification (Instructor level preferred)
