The Investment Accounting Data Quality Analyst Sr. is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the quality for investment related data, resolving data quality problems, and collaborating with database developers to improve systems and database designs. The incumbent will optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected and stored, perform data analysis, create and enhance data collection and storage procedures, and prepare data quality reports. This position will proactively work with the Investments Data and Systems team in the Investment Management Division, Information Technology Division, as well as the Accounting and Reporting team and Analytics and Financial Insight Groups in the Financial Service Division.

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work conducted at our TRS office in Austin, Texas, approximately two to three times a week or as required for business needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Data Quality Leads the creation of validated data sets that produce known results and that can be used to automate testing for investment accounting system. Coordinates and participates in the creation, design, and maintenance of reusable datasets for use by data analysts. Coordinates, identifies, records, documents, and tracks defects. Identifies areas of improvement in data quality processes in the investment accounting system and coordinates solutions to enhance data accuracy and reliability. Conducts functional, integration, regression, and performance testing of database systems using industry standard technologies (SQL, Python, etc.) Assesses new data sources to better understand availability and quality of data. Coordinates, develops and executes manual and automated test cases for software applications to ensure the reliability of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformations. Designs, implements, and enhances data integration processes to investment accounting system. Coordinates, designs, monitors and maintains QA reports, KPIs and quality trends for data. Assists in developing and maintaining data governance policies and standards around data quality. Maintains source code repository of scripts (SQL, Python) and other data products (dashboards, reports, etc.). Work with technology teams to understand data capture and testing needs. Automates and improves creation/maintenance of reports and dashboards. Performs statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity. Runs data queries to identify coding issues and data exception, implementing solutions to resolve any issues. Troubleshoots and optimizes stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server. Works in partnership with business analysts to ensure proper integration of new solutions into existing environments. Provides training, technical assistance, data interpretation, and advice to managers and staff.

Departmental Support Mentors other analysts, providing guidance and support. Collaborates with senior management and stakeholders to align data quality initiatives with organizational goals. Identifies and mitigates risks associated ith departmental operations. Assisting with fostering innovation within the department by exploring new methodologies and technologies. Assists with evaluating and improving departmental processes and tools. Participates on related agency committees and special projects as assigned. Performs related work as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Required Education Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in finance, economics, data management, or a closely related field. High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time experience in working with SQL and relational databases including queries, database definition and schema design, or related experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.
