TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF Food Services Administrative Assistant in Austin, Texas
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of position:12 months, year round.
Hours: 40 hours, Full-Time
SUMMARY
Performs moderately complex clerical work. Work involves gathering information, checking documents for accuracy, handling and transporting documents and maintaining files. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude of the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Record daily meal participation, including all Rosters of meals delivered outside Dining Area
- Keep accurate records of all students eating cafeteria prepared food off campus; add to daily meal count
- Separate daily participation records into student and adult, paid and free
- Ensure that EC participation has been recorded
- Run daily activate reports and rosters
- Complete end of month reports, including Procurement statements and production logs
- Deliver end of month reports to Revenue Accountant
- Keep NSLP/BP and Food Distribution Handbooks up to date
- Answer phones and greet visitors in a courteous, professional manner
- Record bread and milk consumption, monitor to prevent exceeding contract limits
- Gather and complete all receiving invoices, deliver to purchasing or to accounts payable
- Type memos and reports when requested
- Keep track of Staff Days off on Main Calendar
- Complete Work Orders for maintenance concerns
- Maintain inventory of paper and office supplies, and make purchasing recommendations to Cafeteria Manager
- Complete Purchase Requestions for all orders
- Monitor registers during meal services to ensure students input ID numbers
- Assist in preparing and restocking food items as directed
- Maintain a clean and organized work space, and assist with cleaning the dining area and kitchen including sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables and chairs, etc. as directed

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in basic computer skills such as word processing and spreadsheets
- Sign Language: The ultimate required proficiency level for the position using the levels designated in the Signed Communication Proficiency Interview (SCPI) is ADVANCED.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in National School Lunch requirements and administration
- Proficient sign communications skills
