One Gas Engineering Manager in Austin, Texas
Manages regional and divisional engineering activities.
Direct regional and divisional engineering activities including but not limited to:
Pipeline design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects
Transmission integrity management programs
Measurement, regulation, and control facilities
Gas-conditioning and compressed natural gas facilities
Supervise and direct employees engaged in engineering services, including but not limited to:
System expansions and relocations
New distribution systems
System map maintenance
Pipeline facilities record keeping
Provide technical and engineering assistance to other departments, management, governmental and regulatory agencies, company attorneys, industry groups, customers, and others on matters related to projects and operations, policies, procedures, contracts, material selection, and governmental/regulatory rules, regulations, and activities.
Research, analyze, prepare, and/or approve information including but not limited to:
Pipeline systems design criteria
Structural and/or material failure analysis
Policies and procedures
Technical and governmental reports
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Pipeline and/or facility design or operational experience
Familiarity with Austin and TxDOT rules, regulations, and construction practices
Gas distribution and transmission design
Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus job-related experience as follows:
Experience with and thorough knowledge of pipeline and related facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects; measurement, regulation, and control facilities; gas-conditioning and compressor facilities; and pressure vessels.
Experience with application of math, algebraic formulas, calculus, and statistics.
Experience in use and function of office equipment applicable to position including microcomputers and applicable software.
Experience with and training related to:
Operating policies and procedures
Communications skills/customer relations
Industry standards and governmental codes, rules, and regulations
Development of technical training programs
Regulatory inspection and material testing programs
Experience identifying, researching, evaluating, and prioritizing problems or specific situations and providing appropriate actions, alternatives, and/or recommendations.
Experience advising, directing, negotiating, and communicating effectively.
Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, codes and standards, manuals, policies, procedures, contracts, specifications, and various reports and correspondence.
Experience researching, composing, and preparing contracts, engineering studies, policies, procedures, reports, and technical correspondence.
Experience supervising, directing, and/or delegating work assignments. Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Experience examining, testing, and evaluating new products, materials, and processes.
Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver’s license. Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
Registered Professional Engineer
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
