Install electrical panels, circuits, lighting fixtures, outlets, and various commercial and laboratory equipment in accordance with construction documents and written-verbal instructions to meet client requirements.Install interior and exterior temporary power for various campus special events. Some evening and weekend work required.Read, understand, and work from design drawings, sketches, construction documents, building codes, and university standards with or without direct supervision. supervision. Plan and layout projects; order materials. Inspect final work for compliance with above.Trace circuits and test continuity of electrical circuits for installed equipment using appropriate tools of the trade, as-built drawings, and visual inspection to ensure safe installations. Safely troubleshoot circuits when problems are encountered.Accomplish basic shop paperwork and electronic documents, including records for materials used, daily labor report, and weekly timesheet. Drive UT vehicle in support of campus projects and special events.Assist in shop operations. Maintain and properly secure shop, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in shop and at job sites. Wear personal protective equipment as required for each task. Comply with safety standards and policies.Support zone maintenance shops and other departments in repair of campus facilities, including after-hours response to campus emergencies.Attend management-directed meetings and training. Accomplish other duties as assigned.
