Job/Position DescriptionThe Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Director III and#150; Executive Advisor performs advanced (senior-level) managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning under the direction of the DFPS Director of Strategic Operations. Work involves establishing the strategic plan and goals and objectives; developing policies, procedures, and guidelines; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; and coordinating and evaluating program activities and/or business functions. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential Job FunctionsDirects program activities and/or business functions within a department or division. and#149;Performs a broad range of functions in support of the DFPS Commissioner, including coordinating special projects and providing consultation on various complex issues.and#149;Directs planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of division operations by establishing leadership guidance. and#149;Responsible for being subject matter expert and develops strategies for effective management and improvement of division operation. and#149;Plans and coordinates the operations supporting the Commissioner and the agency.and#149;Directs key projects and initiatives on behalf of the Commissioner and the Director of Strategic Operations.Oversees the collection, organization, analysis, and preparation of reports. and#149;Develop reports for various levels of stakeholders in support of the division.and#149;Oversees collaboration with agency programs for reporting and data to develop data reporting strategies and support agency program analysis. and#149;Consults with leadership, agency staff and external entities to gather information, ascertain needs, and develop recommendations for the Commissioner and the Director of Strategic Operations.Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities and/or business functions within a department or division; and identifies need for changes.and#149;Provides management and coordination of diverse projects and assignments, organizing work sessions, providing project management, and coordinating responses to internal and external stakeholders.and#149;Establishes or refines processes within the team to ensure continuity of operational support for the Commissioner and the Director of Strategic Operations.and#149;Utilizes information from program areas, division staff and DFPS executive leadership to assess and identify needs for improvement and determine actions to address issues and barriers.Develops and establishes goals and objectives consistent with the agencyand#146;s strategic plan. and#149;Aligns work and goals to the division strategic goals, which support the agencyand#146;s strategic mission.and#149;Provides leadership, strategic direction, and planning for division and coordinates with agency leadership to implement program policies and achieve goals.
