Salary: $50,000-55,000+ based on experience

Schedule: Full time; shifts vary; primarily mornings with rotating weekends. More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

As a Dining Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting in the successful operation and customer service of the food service department. You will support a 225-bed teaching hospital in Downtown Austin and primarily have oversight of the cafeteria, coffee shop, and vending outlets with weekend shifts in hospital patient meal service. Retail hours are 6:30am-7pm. There are 4 made-to-order lunch stations: Action, Entree, Grill, and Deli/Pizza, along with grab-and-go areas. The supervisor role is an exciting opportunity for a supervisor seeking a career avenue in the food service industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with running the day-to-day operation of dining services.

• Supervise a team of approximately 12 associates.

• Ensures client/customer service and guest satisfaction with efficient, cost-effective management meeting and exceeding stated expectations.

• Assists in the responsibility for all food service-related activities.

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of food service experience with some leadership in a supervisory role.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

• Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate with management, client, customer, and associate levels.

• Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.

• Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

• ServSafe Certification is preferred.
