Clickhereto see an inside look at the Texas Comptrollers office About The Division The Texas Opioid Abatement Fund Council (OAFC) is administratively attached to the Texas Comptrollers office, which created the Texas Opioid Abatement Fund Council Program to provide the staff, resources and facilities as necessary to assist the Council in performing its duties, maintain copies of settlement agreements online and submit an annual report to the Legislature of expenditures made by the Council. In addition to supporting the Council, program staff provides administrative support to the Texas Opioid Abatement Trust Fund and Opioid Abatement Account in the form of communication and education with the public and transparency and monitoring of how funds are received and distributed. The OAFC is seeking a Project Manager. The work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of diverse projects at various levels of completion; monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and communicating with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. The Project Manager may direct, assign, and evaluate the work of project staff. Agency standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Hours are subject to change based upon business need or division determination. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Experience in project management and/or assignment coordination across multiple teams. Four (4) years of experience working in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and/or other applications. Three (3) years of experience providing excellent communication, assistance, and follow-through to both internal and external groups. Two (2) years of experience using specialized software such as NetSuite and Salesforce. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in business, information services, government, project management or related field. Four (4) years of experience assisting and coordinating activities at a state agency Two years working with Adobe Acrobat for document development. Two years of experience facilitating and/or coordinating large meetings and events, including scheduling meetings, documenting meeting, and/or recording meetings in person or via webinar using tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, or similar. Experience working with governance concepts and a governance structure with multiple stakeholders. Experience working with Texas state government processes, policies, and procedure. Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design requirements for the development of documents and other distributed materials Experience working with large projects and programs. Experience working with Survey Monkey, and/or similar tools. Experience supporting the maintenance of website content. Experience working with all levels of a companys structure from entry-level staff up through executive management. Experience supporting grant projects and grant management systems. Substitutions One (1) additional year of the full-time minimum experience as stated above may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum of 60 semester hours (two years). In this role, you will: Manages projects for the OAFC program from inception to completion, working with division leadership, staff and agency stakeholders to produce all deliverables. This includes establishing project schedules, budgets and timelines; scheduling and coordinating project kickoff and follow-up meetings, facilitating activity between teams, monitoring progress and communicating project status, processes and updates to stakeholders and division team members. Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and develops processes to mitigate or avoid them. Keeps division director, program director and staff updated on status of all division projects. Communicates project information, develop status reports and tracks milestones to ensure projects stay on schedule and budget. Monitors and manages project quality to ensure that deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project specifications and customers' requests. Liaises with Information Technology division on cloud-based software applications and grant management systems. Supports strategic initiatives by working with business unit to effectively communicate needs to developers and IT staff clearly and concisely. Works with business unit and IT on identifying the needs of the program. Works with program staff and external teams to develop solutions to technical problems. Maximize Your Earnings!
