We are hiring a Community Health Coordinator who will be responsible for providing support to the Austin Community Impact team and other staff in health strategies and communications. As the coordinator, you will support the coordination and implementation of projects, programs, and communication strategies for public health awareness through partnerships with an integrated market team, local agencies, and community service organizations.

This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide administrative and technical assistance to Community Impact Director and Communications Director.

  • Manage reporting tools and data quality for health impact activities and programs. Coordinate internal reporting processes, platforms and SharePoint sites for Community Impact team.

  • Coordinate, create and/or edit marketing materials, social media content, event calendars, and support communication efforts for all our local campaigns.

  • Provide project management, planning and logistical support for internal staff meetings and conference calls. Participates in internal team meetings to support the execution of programs and cause campaigns.

  • Plan and prepare or supervise the preparation of periodic and special reports. Coordinate grant application reports, as well as internal/external reporting documents.

  • Assist with budget, expense management, reporting and reimbursement.

  • Provide support for the team and/or deliver assigned health related community programs which may include, but is not limited to, one or more of the following:collective impact strategies and outcomes, multi-cultural healthy lifestyle awareness and education, healthy choices nutritional education or other related sponsored community-based programs.

  • Manage calendars and coordinate travel and schedule for team members, as needed.

  • Serve as a representative of the Association with key community organizations and partnerships. Plan and coordinate volunteer and committee meetings including preparing agenda and presentations. Assists in the management of multiple volunteer groups associated with assigned health focused programs.

  • Monitor national, state, and local health trends to inform Health Strategies staff of potential partnerships as well as funding and program opportunities. Help directors in fund development pursuits for Health Strategies programs from foundations, individuals and/or corporations.

  • May plan, assign, and review work of student interns and volunteers.

  • Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 years of experience in administrative support within public health programs or communications.

  • Graphic design and social media experience a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience with health program education and awareness, community groups and influencers.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
