What You Will Do
Supervise the daily activities of a defined laboratory unit.
Establish policies, procedures and protocols for testing.
Oversee quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Define analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and reference ranges for test methods.
Serve as a resource to laboratory staff as well as other members of the healthcare team. May be responsible for staffing schedules in area of responsibility.
Monitor workflow and work volume continuously and adjusts worker's job tasks as necessary to ensure daily work completion.
Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
One or more of the following preferred:
Cytotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
Histotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
Clinical Laboratory Supervisor.
Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
Medical Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Medical Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory scientist, human sciences or education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements required.
- 2 years of experience required.
