Individual and At-Scale Career Advising: Advise and assist students in their career search regarding their qualifications and transferrable skills related to career opportunities, employment trends, and salary information. Develop, select, and utilize effective career search materials using best practices for neurodiversity and learning style differences for students seeking career information. Collect and utilize occupational data and current labor market information. Manage the collection and dissemination of information about employers and employment opportunities to students. Work with other staff members in the undergraduate division to create and facilitate programs to make career services a part of conversations in the college. Plan and coordinate workshops and seminars for students, staff, and faculty. Teach effectively and present to large groups on career-related and professional development topics.Alumni Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with alumni to create a strong network that supports students with career exploration. Develop and manage an alumni database. Plan alumni panels and other networking opportunities featuring alumni. Track and analyze alumni engagement to assess the effectiveness of events.Communications: Utilize Handshake dashboards and communications tools to increase CNS student engagement with Handshake platform, CNS Career Services website, resources, coaching services, and events. Communicate regularly about CNS Career Services offerings with CNS faculty, staff, and student organizations.Internship Courses: Facilitate online internship courses for students in the College of Natural Sciences. Provide administrative support for internship courses including managing internship course applications in Handshake as needed. Grade assignments and manage student communications through Canvas.Representation and Collaboration: Represent the career services programs in on-campus and off-campus meetings and conferences. Promote collaboration, information exchange, and professional development for students, staff, and faculty related to career services. Establish and maintain effective external and internal communications with employers and other career services personnel for collaboration and professional development.Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.
