UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Associate Director of Operations- Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care, Dell Medical School in Austin, Texas

In partnership with Division Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, develop and manage the strategic priorities and ongoing growth of clinical programs, education offerings, faculty relations, research portfolio and opportunities for community impact.Develop strong working relationships with central support and leadership at the Medical School, health system and community partners. Partner with UT Health Austin and/or clinical affiliate leadership on new program development and ongoing practice management. Serve as a departmental leader in the UT Health Austin clinics, liaising between administration and Division leadership and faculty. Manage deployment of physicians across the care continuum, including hospitals, ASC and outpatient clinics. Become subject matter expert on alternative payment models, and in partnership with UT Health Austin leadership, develop further opportunities and pilots with aligned payers, employers and partners.Work closely with Department, Dell Med Finance and HR on the annual budgeting process and hiring of all UT-employed faculty and staff utilizing Department and UT policies and procedures. Oversee all UT contracts and expenditures for the programs. Oversee contracts and recruitment related to education and research, and ensure close integration of all mission areas with the Department and Dell Medical School strategic priorities. Manage and supervise division staff.Facilitation and coordination of division strategic planning, retreats, meetings, projects, processes, or requests from Department or Dell Med/UT. Develop and maintain project plans, tracking progress to assist leadership with holding team members accountable for timelines and deliverables for successful completion of projects, ensuring stakeholders are appropriately apprised of progress and barriers.Support the production of regular communication channels within the division. Support Division faculty through the promotion process and annual evaluation process. Actively work to ensure department leadership is apprised of issues that have a significant impact to the department. Participate and/or lead other strategic department initiatives within the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care, at the discretion of department leadership.Other related duties as assigned.
