Provides strategic leadership and direction for CEESA to achieve its mission of developing cutting-edge models and technologies that address critical societal challengesDrives the center's annual agenda, ensuring alignment with the university's and the Cockrell School of Engineering's strategic research plan (https://cockrell.utexas.edu/research/strategic-research-plan) and the center's commitment to delivering scientifically robust and technologically innovative solutionsFosters an environment of excellence in research and innovation, encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration among faculty, researchers, and industry partnersSecures funding through grants, partnerships, and collaborations, and manages the center's budget with a focus on sustainability and growth, in coordination with the center's operations director and leadershipOversees the translation of research outcomes into public-use technology, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and maximum societal impactEngages with policymakers, industry leaders, and the scientific community to promote the center's work and enable evidence-informed policy-makingMentors and supports the professional development of the center's staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Represents the center and the university in national and international forums, seminars, and conferencesSupervises CEESA staff who work with Events, Marketing, Public Communications, and Digital SolutionsPerforms other related duties as assigned
