Oversee the Payment Team to ensure timely and accurate employee payments and quality service to the university. Ensure coverage for all critical processes on time-sensitive tasks to meet payroll processing deadlines. Provide direction and oversight for team responsibilities.Provide direction and oversight to the Financials Team within Payroll Services to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures and state and federal laws and regulations. Oversee payroll related banking activities and ensure payroll related accounting activities are accurate and timely. Manage the overall process by assigning and monitoring workloads to ensure deadlines are met.Develop, implement and maintain policies and business processes to support the units activities and to enhance and maintain the effectiveness of unit operations. Develop and support long term strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and support departmental goals. Work collaboratively with functional and technical staff both within payroll and across university operational units to identify, test, and implement enhancements to existing processes and systems. Oversee project implementation, provide training and communicate information to university community.Communicate and disseminate payroll policies and procedures to internal and external staff, administrative leadership and campus leaders using a variety of different communication strategies including presentations, reports, electronic correspondence and web content.Other related functions as assigned. Overtime expected during peak processing periods.
