SUMMARY:

Individuals interested in this position will support and develop solutions for the Supply Chain pillar of our Data Engineering team within the Data and Analytics Office, and will require strong initiative, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for managing simultaneous projects within the Supply Chain domain.

Specific competencies include:

  • Data Structures and Models - Performs enhancements to modeling techniques with direct supervision. Special analysis may be conducted using standard statistical and/or data visualization techniques.

  • Data Pipelines and ELT - Collates and analyzes data. Transforming database requirements into logical data models. Developing physical data models to define the database structure.

  • Data Performance - Collects and reports management data to support decisions on day-to-day operations and specific business performance issues. Compiles, sorts and organizes data in preparation for subsequent analysis. Helps to identify and resolve any data quality issues through allocated data cleaning and testing tasks.

  • Visualizations and Dashboards - Uses a limited range of BI and data analysis tools to provide visualizations and reports within a comparatively structured reporting framework. Collaborates with internal clients and other team members to understand business requirements and supports the development of routine and ad-hoc reports and dashboards in line with these requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with business solution architects and business units to understand their data use needs and gather requirements for Supply Chain data delivery.

  • Provide issue resolution and maintenance for a limited scope of business unit solutions already existing in the enterprise data warehouse.

  • Engineers data models for dimensions and facts within the staging and warehouse layer of our enterprise data warehouse.

  • Engineers and performance tunes data pipelines under guidance of more experienced data engineers to move data from a variety of source systems and file types to fit into dimensional data models.

  • Utilizes SQL within Python, Informatica, Google Big Query and Oracle SQL Views to achieve proper metric calculations or derive dimension attributes.

  • Develops the schedule and orchestration for batch full and incremental data loads into the enterprise data warehouse (Oracle and Google Cloud Platform).

  • Develops within a core metadata model including the physical, logical and presentation layers for the enterprise business intelligence within Tableau or Oracle.

  • Engineers dashboards within the enterprise business intelligence platform containing reports and visualization that have simple user interface design and flow for the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, MIS, or related area and experience with business intelligence and data warehouse development

  • 2+ years of experience with reading and writing SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with developing within a business intelligence/reporting tool like Tableau, OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition)

  • 1+ years of experience developing ETLs or integrations with tools like Python, Informatica, Microsoft SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Tested problem-solving skills

  • A strong pattern of initiative

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa

Preferred:

  • Advanced SQL skills

  • Experience with Supply Chain data and processes

  • Experience developing data pipelines and queries within Google Cloud Platform (Google Big Query) and/or Oracle Databases

  • Experience engineering within a data warehouse or related experience with dimensional data modeling

  • Experience tuning SQL and ETLs

  • Proven ability to gather detailed technical requirements to design and develop business intelligence report solutions from beginning to end

LOCATION: Austin, MN – Global Headquarters
