What You Will Be Doing:

The Warranty Analyst position is responsible for preparation, processing, and settling of claim payments, in a timely manner, to Caterpillar and various other authorized vendors while also providing support and information to our service departments when needed. Claims submitted will be monitored and settlements with unpaid balances will be either resubmitted or allocated appropriately. The Warranty Analyst will assist with warranty audits and communicate warranty guidelines, procedures and updates to appropriate personnel to assure warranty guidelines and documentation requirements are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Involvement of the warranty registration and quoting process for coverages.

  • Determining expenses that our vendors would be responsible for under a contract agreement of coverage and seeking payment.

  • Working with our vendors and service departments to resolve any unpaid balances after that may be remaining after settlement.

  • Work with Account to allocate settled claims for remaining balances.

  • Communication of warranty guidelines, procedures and updates to appropriate personnel to assure warranty guidelines and documentation requirements are met.

  • Resolve any requests from our vendors if additional information is required for payment.

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.

  • Provide support to others in the department when required, to maintain even work flow.

  • Travel to branch locations when needed to support our service departments

  • Performed other duties as necessary.

    Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have an understanding of warranty processes and billing. Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, as well as proficient in typing. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret technical information (technician notes, vendor instructions, and specific warranty procedures/guidelines).

  • Skilled in ‘Basic’ computer applications including email and internet usage.

  • Ability to ask and properly respond to questions from customers and supervisors in a timely manner.

  • Ability to manage heavy work flow efficiently.

  • Basic accounting knowledge.

    Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Two years of experience in the heavy machinery industry.

  • Prior warranty experience

  • Understanding of basic hydraulics and mechanical aptitude

  • DBS system knowledge
