What You Will Be Doing:

As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee payroll staff and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

  • Ensures fair and consistent accountability.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Coordinates with finance and HR departments.

  • Resolves payroll errors; verifies payroll runs.

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and changes to pay rates.

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.

  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.

    Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have previous payroll experience and be proficient with payroll software, preferably UKG payroll. You should have strong analytical and problem solving skills, while also possessing the social skills necessary for teamwork and leadership. Extensive knowledge of payroll functions is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

  • Extensive experience with using UKG Payroll is strongly preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • Social skills necessary for teamwork and management

  • Knowledge of payroll management software; specific knowledge of and experience in using the UKG payroll functionality
