Arapahoe County Talent Acquisition Specialist in Aurora, Colorado

Description The Arapahoe County Human Resources department is looking for an eager, self-starter with a customer service mentality to join our team as a Talent Acquisition Specialist! This position is the Talent Acquisition Specialist for approximately half of the organization and is responsible for the administration of all pre-employment activities including but not limited to: creation of job postings, advertising on job boards, evaluating and referring applicants, coordinating background checks, physical/capability testing and drug screening. The Talent Acquisition Specialist also oversees the on boarding process, scheduling of orientations, facilitating orientation, and verifies new hire paperwork. This position also serves as a liaison to other government agencies, networking on best practices and industry hiring trends. Duties * Works with hiring managers across Arapahoe County Government to create job posting and advertise on appropriate sources. * Answers internal and external applicant inquires; refers other inquires to HR staff members as appropriate. * Communicates with vendors regarding pre-employment activities such as background checks, physical capabilities and drug testing. * Responds to employment verifications. * Updates employment records within SAP * Evaluate and refer qualified applicants daily and notify unselected applicants in a timely manner. * Oversees the pre-employment screenings process which may include but is not limited to: criminal background checks, motor vehicle reports (MVR), scheduling physical capabilities testing, rapid and DOT Drug screens, polygraph exams, and any other department/position specific pre-employment testings (CAPS, IPV, etc.) * Communicate status of candidates throughout the pre-employment process and work with hiring managers to schedule new employees for orientation and submit new hire action forms. * Facilitate weekly new employee orientation and clearly communicate important policies and procedures, SAP Demo, and other useful information. * Collect new employee paperwork and create personnel and medical folders in a timely manner. * Audit monthly invoices for accuracy and submit for payment. * Serves as department time administrator * Assists with annual years of service awards and ceremony * Performs other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities: * Medium to high level of proficiency with Microsoft Teams * Preferred experience with Applicant Tracking Systems. Knowledge of NeoGov desirable. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Effective management of priorities and projects in a fast paced environment. * Ability to manage information in a confidential and professional manner. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
