Boeing Defense Space and Security (DBS) seeks an Experienced System Engineer to join their Flight and Ground Systems Engineering teams in Aurora, Colorado, supporting daily operations in the end-to-end technical management of our mission.

Our Systems Engineers are complex problem solvers, working to maintain the mission of deployed 24x7 systems. They are responsible for identifying, isolating, documenting, and resolving complex issues across multiple systems. These complex issues could be with products of our Flight and Ground Systems, or the issues may lie with one of our mission partners' systems. The Systems Engineer works across contract boundaries and customers to resolve these issues to continue our critical mission. The issues may reside in processes, hardware, scripting tools, operating systems, or compiled code - including MATLAB , VBA , Perl , Python , C++ , C# , Fortran , Java , Windows OS , RedHat Linux, VMS , and others. The Systems Engineer should be comfortable learning different systems' requirements and implementations and seeking support of resident experts when needed for the investigations.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

  • Support all aspects of spacecraft operations, planning, monitoring, and trending telemetry and look for adverse trends that could affect operations as well as planning and execution of all required maintenance procedures and recovery from anomalies.

  • Participate in software integration and test activities to ensure mission functionality prior to deployment into operations.

  • Coordinate with management and peers to ensure the integrity of high-quality operational products including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration.

  • Analyze technical data and verify and sustain specific systems configuration in accordance with defined parameters and operational requirements.

  • Run analyses to optimize total system of systems or system architecture .

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

This position is expected to be fully onsite in Aurora, CO.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. TS/SCI clearance Pre-Start is required.

A current Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CIP), or willingness and ability to obtain one, is also required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) :

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 3+ years of Engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

  • 1+ years of experience in Defense or Space Systems related fields.

  • 1+ years of experience interacting with customers.

  • Experience developing scripts or software in MATLAB , VBA , Perl , Python , Fortran , C++ , etc.

Typical Education & Experience :

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation :

Shift Work :

This position is for 1st shift with a rotating off-hours on-call requirement. Shift differential and overtime apply.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: 104,550 – 141,450.
