Job Overview

The Respiratory Therapist Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for multiple research studies simultaneously, as a professional licensed liaison with the investigators, treating teams, pharmacy, laboratories, IRB's, Sponsors and sponsor agencies. Responsible for records and managing all phase of study protocols by sponsoring agencies ensuring compliance. Directly assists the Principal Investigator to supports the achievements of the research program and the study aims and objectives. 30% of time will be Respiratory Therapy duties and 70% of time will be Research Coordinator duties. The Cystic Fibrosis team within the Breathing Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado led by Dr. Scott Sagel and Dr. Edith Zemanick currently have an open position for a Respiratory Therapist/Clinical Research Coordinator. This exciting opportunity will focus on recruiting pediatric study participants with CF and coordinate and conduct clinical research visits for children with CF for industry sponsored clinical trials.

Tasks for this position include telephone recruitment calls, conducting the informed consent discussion, following human subjects research protocols, coordinating, and conducting in-person clinical assessments with breathing tests and biosample collection, processing biosamples in a laboratory setting, data entry and data quality monitoring, and active participation in team meetings regarding study implementation and process improvement.

Additional Information

Department: Pulmonary Medicine Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Work hours may vary due to department needs. *This position does have work from home options and well as flexing lighter Fridays.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care is required at the time of hire. Experience: Four years of experience providing respiratory care Certification(s): Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by th National Board of Respiratory Care BLS- American Heart Association for Healthcare Provider OR American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer/CPR; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); One certification from the or equivalent organization within 2 years of hire.(ex.CPFT, RPFT, ACRP, AE-C) in order to be eligible to sit for the CCRC or CCRP preferred. Licensure(s): Colorado Respiratory Therapist License.
