Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill an experienced Principal Network Engineer or Sr. Principal Network Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position is located in Aurora, CO
In this role, the successful candidate will design and plan network communication systems. Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment. Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conduct testing of network design. An understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) are a plus. This candidate will have to Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc. Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Candidates are required to be Security+ certified, have Active TS/SCI clearance, and polygraph to be considered. Candidates must have the ability to work within a group or independently where collaboration and attention to detail is critical to mission success.
Travel is required at a minimum of 20%.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Network Engineer - Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ years.
Senior Principal Network Engineer - Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years; 13+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
Candidate must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and polygraph to be considered
Candidates are required to be Security+ certified.
Candidates are required to travel a minimum of 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with: LAN/WAN and OSPF/BGP/EIGRP
Firewall Hardware and Software Knowledge, administration, and management.
Router Hardware and Software Knowledge
Switches Hardware and Software Knowledge
Encryption Knowledge

Salary Range: $93,000 - $139,600
Salary Range 2: $115,400 - $173,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
