Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for a Software Engineers for our ground system programs in Aurora, Colorado.

In this role, you will work with an amazing team of software engineers to help come up with innovative solutions to complex problems. You will gain experience with the full lifecycle of development, integration, operations and sustainment for next generation, cutting-edge, satellite ground systems including Mission Management, Command & Telemetry, and Flight Dynamics. You will also get to apply a variety of technologies such as Java, J2EE, JMS, Web Services, Python, Ruby, Chef, C++, Oracle, and Mongo.
These positions are located in Aurora, Colorado. Relocation assistance is authorized.
What You'll Get to Do:
As a Software Engineer/Integrator, you will be part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields throughout the design, development and maintenance life cycle. On our ground system programs, you will work with teams of talented engineers to develop and improve advanced, large-scale suites of applications that manage complex space and ground systems.
As Software Engineer, you will be responsible:
Develop new functional capabilities within software applications to meet a wide range of customer requirements and operational needs
Perform development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, and ensuring they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
Develop new software, tailor reusable software, and integrate software components
Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code coverage, participating in peer code reviews, conducting design reviews , and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen with an current/active U.S. Government TS security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other relevant technical discipline.
Experienced with Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object Oriented Design (OOD)
8 years of relevant experience with at least 6 years of experience developing/programming in Java
Experience with scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
Proficiency working in Unix and/or Linux
Experience using software development tools like Eclipse, Junit, Git, and Jira
Experience with the entire software lifecycle, preliminary design through test and maintenance phases
Experience with Docker, and/or Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience with Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc.)
Experience and/or knowledge with Service Oriented Architecture and Web Service design
Experience with cybersecurity hardened development
Experience with some area of satellite ground system software, such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations or flight dynamics
Strong oral and written communication skills; problem solving skills
It Would Be Great if You Also Had:
Experience developing/programming in C+
- Experience and/or knowledge with one or more databases (Mongo, PostgreSQL)
Experience with Software design tools such as Rational Rose, Rhapsody, or comparable tools
Experience with use case analysis
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing
Have familiarity with security functionality (user auth, access control, PKI, audit logging, etc.
Experience Designing and Architecting around Kubernetes and Kafka
Experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on high availability, low latency and scalability
Familiarity with geospatial processing, satellite data processing, and/or weather data processing

“In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $98,700 to $187,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.”
