Nature of Work

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine's mission is to provide outstanding, cutting-edge clinical care, research, and state-of-the-art training. The Department is seeking a board-eligible or board-qualified pediatric otolaryngologist to join the full-time faculty. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Clinical service in the field of Pediatric Otolaryngology, with the primary location for this position being Children's Hospital Colorado located at Anschutz Medical Campus as well as surrounding network of care sites. This position will include facial trauma and vestibular disorders coverage in addition to general pediatric otolaryngology care.

  • Teaching and mentoring of fellows, residents, medical students, and other related trainees.

  • Faculty expectation for regular academic/scholarship/research activities toward academic promotion

Supervision Received

This faculty position will report directly to the Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Supervision Exercised

This position exercises no formal supervision of employees.

Salary and Benefits:

Assistant Professor: The salary range for this position has been established at $260,000 - $350,000.

Associate Professor: The salary range for this position has been established at $280,000 - $375,000.

Professor: The salary range for this position has been established at $300,000 - $400,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant Professor:

Doctor of Medicine degree

Board Certified or Board Qualified in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

If Board Qualified, must receive Board Certification within 2 years of hire.

Board Eligible in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license

Associate Professor:

Doctor of Medicine degree

Board Certified in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Board Eligible in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

4+ years of experience at rank or equivalent experience

Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license

Professor:

Doctor of Medicine degree

Board Certified in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Board Eligible in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

Fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery

7+ years of experience at rank or equivalent experience

Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications are the same for all ranks:

Experience or special interest in facial trauma and vestibular disorders.

Demonstrated commitment and ability to develop a successful community-based practice
