Job Overview

The Lead Medical Technologist IHP directs day-to-day activities within the laboratory section and serves as a primary resource for technical and clinical expertise in the lab section. Oversight of and responsible for performing laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory and reporting timely accurate test results; participates in laboratory quality assurance activities with advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements. Our laboratory testing plays a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric, adult and prenatal conditions. With state-of-the-art laboratory services, facilities and technologies, we support and guide quality patient care across the pediatric spectrum. Our labs offer a wide range of high-quality lab screenings and diagnostic tests with rapid turnaround times, as well as an unmatched scope and capabilities, including diagnostic tests that aren't available anywhere else in the country. The laboratory technologists at each Children's Hospital Colorado lab are specially trained on the intricacies of pediatric laboratory testing, so they can provide the extra level of expertise necessary to help diagnose and treat pediatric illnesses. The Immunopathology & Hematopathology Laboratory analyzes blood, tissue, and bone marrow samples using flow cytometry for cellular immunophenotyping and function to support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders as well as the Clinical Allergy and Immunology Center. Additional Information

Department: Immunopathology & Hematopathology Lab (IHP) Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Day, 8am-5pm. Rotating Saturday and holiday coverage. Upon successful completion of training team members do have the ability to lex their hours/schedule.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institutio EXPERIENCE - Four years clinical laboratory experience required. Previous Immunology or Flow Cytometry laboratory experience preferred. Experience with laboratory regulatory compliance such as proficiency testing, CAP regulations, and quality assurance is preferred. A strong candidate will have a proven record of organizational, troubleshooting and leadership skills. EQUIVALENCY - Meeting one of the other requirements set by the ASCP Board of Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree. CERTIFICATION(S) - Medical Technologist/Scientist Certification ASCP or equivalent
