Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing desktop/network support for Windows and macOS systems

  • Experience working with a wide range of computer network systems including Windows servers and networking applications.

  • Experience providing technical training and support to users.

  • Experience supporting information technologies in an academic environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

This position will be a member of a team that is responsible for providing desktop information technology support for departments within the School of Medicine. This position will provide support for approximately 400 users including faculty, staff, and students within assigned departments/divisions. Installing, configuring, and maintaining personal computers and local area network (LAN). Troubleshooting networks, systems, and applications in order to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. Interacting with users to determine problems, analyze situations, identify the source of the problems, determine appropriate solutions and take proper actions required to solve the problems. Performing a variety of maintenance, evaluation, and training tasks to ensure optimal computer performance and user experience. Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system related concerns from clients or other employees. Attend in-person meetings with clients to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems. Provide back-up support for other IT Professionals in Information Services.

– this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
