Job Overview

Come be a part of our Clinical Nutrition Team! We are an incredible group of clinicians dedicated to providing patient & family centered evidence-based medical nutrition therapy. Our clinical RDs are highly integrated within the multidisciplinary team on the inpatient units and outpatient clinics at Children's Hospital Colorado. We are looking for a RD who is a team player, eager to learn and wanting to grow in their clinical pediatric experience to cover our pulmonary patients including our trach/vent population as a member of the greater Pulmonary Multidisciplinary Team and to also provide cross coverage support of other Clinical Nutrition team members. The Clinical Dietitian Associate develops the skills to provide comprehensive, safe, and ethical medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other clients in inpatient or outpatient settings. We are looking for an experienced RD who is a team player, eager to learn, and interested in quality improvement initiatives to work with our incredible NICU RD Team and the NICU multidisciplinary team.

Department Name: Clinical Nutrition Job Status: Full-Time; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits Shift: 4x10 hour shifts M - F (off on Wednesdays) with occasional weekends and holidays

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Preferred. LICENSURES -Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) adhering to the Commission of Dietetic Registration guidelines.

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE Neonate - 30 days to 1yr Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs School age - >5yrs to 13yrs Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which th employee may be expected to perform. Provides nutrition therapy for patients with a variety of diagnosis, in an inpatient or outpatient setting as needed. Incorporates principles of culture-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Completes written documentation of medical nutrition therapy provided in accordance with department standards for format, content, and time frames. Completes nutrition focused physical exam by evaluating body systems, mid-upper arm circumference, triceps skinfold, muscle, and subcutaneous fat wasting, feeding ability, oral health, skin condition, appetite and affect if applicable for patient care.
