Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Professor:
Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist Degree
Doctorate in Nursing Practice
License to practice in Colorado or ability to obtain a license to practice in Colorado
Minimum of five (5) years experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in a Neurohospitalist setting, including working with neurological patients
Minimum of two (2) years experience teaching Nursing students
Will meet the requirements to be promoted to an Associate Professor within seven (7) years
Experience developing nursing curriculum and conducting needs assessments
Experience and desire to work with patients with chronic, and sometimes severe illness
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience completing documentation and performing tasks routinely assigned in medical settings using complex electronic record systems
Experience completing documentation using Epic
Participation in quality improvement projects and initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of University of Colorado Health Hospitals
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and within diverse team structures
Being respectful of patient rights and putting patient safety first, Building patient rapport
A positive, motivated, engaged, and caring attitude

The Department of Neurology has an ongoing need for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Clinical Nurse Specialist) with strong values and unique skills for our Neurohospitalist Section. This position will provide both acute and chronic direct inpatient and care to Neurologic patients. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in supporting the needs of patients, developing differential diagnoses, and prescribing treatments in collaboration with leading specialty providers. We are seeking individuals who are collaborative, communicative, proactive, caring, detail-oriented, organized, able to think critically, focused on quality, and dedicated to personal growth. The position is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will vary depending on clinical schedules and department/hospital needs (some weekend and holidays) - will be determined at time of offer.Research, scholarships and educational activities derive from faculty members' interests. All faculty participate in academic endeavors, including the educational conferences, research and scholarly activities of the section and the department. Attendance at the meetings and educational events of the section and department is expected. The section and the department assist in developing individual, scholarly projects via access to and the assistance of the department's well-established research support infrastructure, including highly efficient research coordinators.Administrative responsibilities include data entry into hospital systems, participation in quality improvement efforts, committee work, and projects aimed at improving section and department missions. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.This APP will work in the Neurohospitalist / Stroke Section within the Department of Neurology, which consists of several physician providers, fellows, and APPs. This position provides inpatient and emergency department consultations throughout the hospital and will engage and collaborate with colleagues across the Department of Neurology, University of Colorado Hospitals, and external constituents This description is a summary only and describes the general level of work being performed, and it is not intended to be all-inclusive. The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as Assistant Professor: $128,000-$135,000The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
