Nature of Work:
The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, is seeking a full-time (1.00 FTE) Behavioral Health Counselor for full time, (1.0 FTE each) benefits-eligible position at the Belleview Clinic located in Aurora, CO. This position is clinic-based as a mental health provider and includes an Instructor or Senior Instructor (open rank) level, non-tenure clinical practice track appointment within the College of Nursing.

Clinic Description:
Sheridan Health Services is a multi-site, nurse-managed federally qualified community health center, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Healthcare; and is a collaborative effort between the College of Nursing and the Sheridan School District. There are now 83 employees at three convenient locations to serve community health needs primarily for residents of Sheridan, Englewood, North Littleton and our Belleview Point Campus in Aurora. The primary location for this position is in Aurora, Colorado at the Belleview Point Clinic. Services offered include primary care across the lifespan; prenatal and postpartum, gynecology, dentistry, pharmacy, behavioral health, and outpatient treatment of substance use disorders. Sheridan Health Services is a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and as such we uphold a model of care that places the patient at the center, incorporating the values and beliefs of the patient in all decision-making. We extend the reach of the clinic through public health outreach where nursing students provide community outreach, health education, and home visitation services. Supervision Received:
Direct supervision will be provided by the Adult Behavioral Health Clinical Lead, with general oversight by the Behavioral Health Program Director.
Supervision Exercised:
Student supervision is required during clinical placements. Clinical supervision of unlicensed Behavioral Health Counselors as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general outpatient behavioral health treatment via individual, group and family therapy, case management, crisis management, skill building, and psycho-education to Adults, children and/or adolescents.
Provide case management and care coordination with providers of service including but not limited to primary care providers, school personnel, family members, and other mental health and community partners.
Evaluate crisis situations and take appropriate action to ensure client safety and the safety of all clinic users.
Participate in scheduled behavioral health team meetings, interdisciplinary work groups, monthly staff meetings, and other required meetings.
Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record system and paper as needed.
Utilize best practices and provide all treatment within appropriate limits. Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for provided services.
Demonstrate high quality customer service focus, good communication and professionalism with clinic users, co-workers and representatives from outside agencies and to enhance community relationships.
Performs other duties as determined by the Behavioral Health Clinical Lead, Behavioral Health Director or Executive Director.
Completes necessary documentation according to established documentation timelines and in adherence with payor source(s) standards

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor (Unlicensed):
Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.
Registered with Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) within one month of hire. No grievances filed with DORA or any other state licensing governance board, Medicaid, or Medicare.
Instructor (Licensed):
Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.
Current licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar:
Have current licensure in good standing (any state), or have completed the number of hours mentioned above. Can be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have current active CO licensures within 6 months of hire.
Senior Instructor:
Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.
Current licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar.
Current licensure in good standing (any state). Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.
Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience utilizing bilingual skills (Spanish/English) at a conversation level in a clinical setting.
Experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting, using brief treatment modalities with an emphasis on time effective, recovery oriented, evidenced-based treatment.
Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, SUD subspecialty certification, and/or Certified Addiction Technician/Specialist certification.
Experience working with population-based outcomes.
Experience with care delivery that incorporates a social justice perspective around the intersectionality of racism, classism, LGBTQ issues, and other forms of oppression.
Experience with prevention and early intervention approaches utilizing trauma informed care.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado licenses within six months of hire.
Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire.
Must be willing and able to complete CAQH by date of hire.
Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification within one month of hire.
Must be willing and able to actively participate in health plan contracts.
Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials are current.
Must be willing to learn and adapt to telehealth services as needed.
Must be willing and able to ensure strict compliance with university and professional policies/procedures.
Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases.
Must be willing and able to work weekends as required
Competencies:
Ability to use computer and clinic software, and to document in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with thoroughness and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of staff, faculty, community members, and clients.
Expertise in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and youth, families, and groups.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of primary care-behavioral health integrated programs, including fundamental elements of co-located and/or fully integrated services.
Ability to effectively utilize computer and electronic medical record.
Ability to maintain standard caseload of patients.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$53,168 annually at Instructor of Clinical Practice, unlicensed
$66,460 - $74,767 annually at Instructor of Clinical Practice, licensed/LCSW, LPC
$67,124 - $75,514 annually at Sr. Instructor of Clinical Practice/LCSW, LPC
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
