Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a SOC Analyst 2 to join our team. This position supports our Security Operations Center (SOC) in Augusta, Maine, and plays a crucial role in safeguarding our network of over 20,000 devices. As a SOC Analyst 2, you will be engaged in a range of activities including endpoint detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities:

• Perform continuous monitoring of critical systems to ensure network security

• Actively participate in endpoint detection and response activities

• Conduct investigations into endpoint security issues and develop appropriate solutions

• Assist in the management and resolution of antivirus protection matters

• Collaborate with the SOC Team Leads and Security Operations Manager to meet operational demands within the SOC

• Leverage your expertise in Windows and Linux systems to enhance our security protocols

• Utilize scripting languages to automate and optimize processes

• Manage and maintain endpoint security platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, FireEye, Crowdstrike, McAfee, or similar

• Conduct vulnerability testing using products such as Windows Defender TVM, Tenable Nessus, Rapid 7 InsightVM, Qualys, or similar

• Work with popular SIEM platforms like Splunk, Azure Sentinel, Sumo Logic, LogRhythm, Elasticsearch, etc.

• Apply your skills in cloud environments, specifically AWS or Azure, to further enhance our security measures. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft applications and Windows OS

• Experience in Workstation Support and Phone Presence

• Knowledge and skills in Security and Engineering

• Degree in Computer Sciences or related field

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS Technologies

• Proficiency in ProFile software

• Ability to design logos

• Knowledge of Linux Technologies

• A Plus certification is desirable

• Familiarity with Anti-Virus software and tools

• Experience with Elasticsearch Technologies

• Knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Detection methods

• Comptia certification is a plus

• Prior experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC)

• Familiarity with Splunk and other SIEM Tools

• Experience in Vulnerability Assessment and Vulnerability Scanning
