Statement of Job:

The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for Part-Time Faculty to teach Special Education and Whole Child Education online courses and supervise field experiences (as needed) for our Education Program. Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Education, or a closely related field

  • Three to five years of experience in PreK to 12 schools and/or education preparation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with neurodivergent and diverse populations and with adapting learning and teaching for inclusive environments

  • Knowledge of whole child education tenets

  • Broad-based experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or mild intellectual disabilities

  • Experience with social-emotional learning and trauma-sensitive teaching

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice in education

  • Experience with supervising filed experience interns and/or student teachers.
