Pacific Northwest National Laboratory ERP Solutions Architect " IT Engineer 5" in Augusta, Maine

Overview

The Computing and Information Technology directorate is embarking on a multi-year effort to replace our legacy ERP Human Capital Management and Finance systems. We are seeking a solutions architect who in partnership with business and technology will lead our technical implementation of the selected ERP products and orchestrate the integration of the solution into our existing ecosystem of digital platforms.

Responsibilities

ERP Solutions Architect

This person will design, select, and oversee the implementation of technology solutions aligned with business needs and the broader enterprise architectural vision. They will partner with business stakeholders, technology leaders, system integrators and agile delivery teams to bring to life a fully implemented ERP solution(s) to the laboratory. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide enterprise guidance and big picture thought leadership by delivering current state architecture documentation, future state product architecture, contributions to proof-of-concept implementation, and domain-specific application architecture strategy

  • Collaborate with ERP system integrators to oversee solution design and implementation processes

  • Oversee the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, data migration, testing, and documentation elements of implementations

  • Assess technology through the understanding of emerging trends, disruptions, and how it layers onto existing and evolving business practices

  • Provide oversight and support to engineering leads within Agile teams to ensure implementations are cost effective, optimized towards long-term sustainability and support, and align with high-level business objectives

  • Provide counsel on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes

  • Work with business leadership and stakeholders to clearly understand business needs

  • Define principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure technical decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture

  • Lead the technical evaluation and selection of software products and services

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA and 9+ years of relevant work experience -OR-

  • MS/MA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR-

  • PhD with 5+ year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret business needs by understanding drivers and translating problems into actionable technical solutions

  • In-depth knowledge of ERP technologies and trends

  • Proven successful project implementation experience, especially delivering ERP solutions

  • Experience in the development of complex software systems using industry best practices

  • Knowledge and experience in applying layered architecture patterns

  • Expertise in data management and integration

  • Extensive Knowledge of IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud technologies

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices

  • Exceptional communicator with both technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to deliver innovative solutions

  • Deliver results with highest level of professionalism and integrity
