As an Employee Life Navigator at Goodwill Northern New England, you will provide individuals with the tools and resources they need to build a better future by listening to understand the barriers that get in the way of work. We seek a dynamic and compassionate Employee Life Navigator (ELN) to join our team.
The Employee Life Navigator will support employees with life stability challenges by connecting them with resources to help lessen the barrier. This position will serve areas with employees in Central Maine, covering Kennebec, Androscoggin, Penobscot, Waldo, and Knox counties. Position will be a mix of providing on-site, in-person and virtually/remote.
Employee Life Navigators will:
Builds and maintains an in-depth professional relationship with employees by assisting in developing and carrying out a personal plan to address life barriers; makes appropriate referrals to social service providers; continues supporting the employee as natural supports are developed.
Interviews employees to collect information and observes their support system using intake data.
Builds and maintains partnerships with lead service providers in the community to make needed referrals for the employee.
Counsels and aids employees requiring assistance in overcoming life barriers; assists them in finding and utilizing resources to aid in overcoming identified barriers.
Prepares and maintains accurate employee personal plans, progress summaries, progress notes and other documentation as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess each employee's unique situation and identify the support services required.
Coordinate referrals to existing community programs and resources.
Collaborate with employees to develop personalized plans for overcoming life barriers.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to help employees execute their goals successfully.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with lead and secondary community partners.
Assist employees in identifying growth opportunities and enhancing workplace success.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Certification/License: LCSW, LCPC, LADC certification, a related certification/license, or LMSW on the path towards LCSW a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with employees.
Experience in case management or coaching is a plus.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within Manchester and surrounding areas.
